PokéXciting! in Kuala Lumpur for Pokemon 30th Anniversary
Kuala Lumpur beat out Taipei, Singapore, Manila, and Bangkok to become the very first stop on Pokémon's 30th anniversary tour of Asia. For two days, KLCC Park turns into the centre of the region's biggest Pokémon celebration, with a drone show, two in-game stamp rallies, and a Pikachu variant made just for the city. Admission is free and open to everyone, trainers and casual visitors alike.

PokéXciting! Comes to KLCC Park on 12 and 13 September 2026
PokéXciting! runs at KLCC Park on 12 and 13 September 2026, with gameplay hours for Pokémon GO trainers set from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on both days. Several highlight moments, like the drone show, sit within specific evening slots rather than running all day.
KLCC Park sits a short walk from the Petronas Twin Towers and needs no ticket to enter. Families and casual visitors are just as welcome as trainers chasing the stamp rallies, since most of the festival runs outside the game itself.

Kuala Lumpur opens the tour, and each day at KLCC Park follows the schedule below:

PokéXciting! Event Map in Kuala Lumpur
The festival spreads across the whole of KLCC Park, with the stage zone near Suria KLCC, the Meet & Greet area over by Ombak KLCC, and photo spots, POKÉGENIC setups, and Pokémon balloons scattered along the paths in between.

Highlights of PokéXciting! in Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia's First Pokémon-Themed Drone Show and PokéXciting! Pikachu's Debut
The event's biggest visual moment is Malaysia's first Pokémon-themed drone show, scheduled for 9:00 to 9:10 PM on 12 September against the backdrop of the Petronas Twin Towers. Hundreds of synchronised drones bring Pokémon to life in the night sky above the park.

Alongside the drone show, PokéXciting! Pikachu makes its debut in a turquoise costume created specifically for Kuala Lumpur. Every city on the tour gets its own colour variant, so the turquoise version stays exclusive to this stop before the tour moves on.

GO Stamp Rally: Two Ways to Catch PokéXciting! Pikachu
KLCC Park runs two separate GO Stamp Rallies during the event. The Cross-Region rally links Kuala Lumpur's stamp to four other PokéXciting! cities across Asia-Pacific, while the Regional rally uses five stamps designed around Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, and Vileplume.
Completing either rally rewards an encounter with PokéXciting! Pikachu (Turquoise) featuring a Kuala Lumpur location background. The Regional rally stays active in the park for a month after the event ends, giving trainers who miss the September weekend a longer window to finish it.
Life-Size Pokémon Figures Around KLCC Park
Life-size Pokémon figures are set up around KLCC Park as part of the POKÉGENIC photo spots, featuring the likes of Pikachu, Mewtwo, Snorlax, and more. These figures turn up in surprising corners of the venue, giving visitors a reason to wander and explore the park as they hunt them down.
Once you find one, strike a pose next to it and get the shot, almost like taking a photo with the Pokémon itself. It is a great way to capture the day and share the fun with friends and family on social media.
Event Bonuses and Timed Research During PokéXciting!
PokéXciting! carries a set of event-wide bonuses on top of the two stamp rallies, plus two free Timed Research tracks available only within the event area.
Spinning PokéStops earns 2x XP, and trades cost half the usual Stardust, with two additional Special Trades available. Lure Modules last a full hour instead of the usual 30 minutes, and catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws grants increased Candy. The park also gets a special event map effect, plus PokéStops themed around the stamp rally.
Night Stage Shows, Merchandise, and the Pokémon GO Booth
Daytime at KLCC Park includes two PokéXciting! Parade sessions, one from 1:30 to 2:00 PM and another from 6:00 to 6:30 PM, so visitors who miss the afternoon slot can still catch the evening one. Once the sun sets, the park shifts into a night stage built around PokéXciting! Pikachu, with dance performances timed to keep the energy up until the drone show.
Limited merchandise featuring the Kuala Lumpur edition of PokéXciting! Pikachu goes on sale for the weekend only. A dedicated Pokémon GO booth also hands out a PokéXciting! sticker and runs its own photo setup, and collecting at least three of six booth stamps redeems a free photobooth print.
Where PokéXciting! Travels Next
Kuala Lumpur is only the opening stop on a five-city tour. Taipei, Singapore, Manila, and Bangkok each get their own PokéXciting! weekend and Pikachu variant over the following months.
- Kuala Lumpur: 12–13 September 2026
- Taipei: 10–11 October 2026
- Singapore: 7–8 November 2026
- Manila: 23–24 January 2027
- Bangkok: 13–14 February 2027
More Pokémon Things to Do After PokéXciting!
PokéXciting! Kuala Lumpur runs for one weekend, but the stamp rally, merchandise, and the wider anniversary calendar stretch on well after 13 September. Missing the festival itself does not mean missing the celebration, and there are more Pokémon events in Malaysia running through to the end of November.
