TCGKL Convention 2026: Dates, Highlights & What to Expect
Trading card game culture in Malaysia has grown fast, and no event makes that clearer than the TCGKL Convention. The TCGKL Convention 2026 edition runs from 6 to 8 November at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), bringing together collectors, players, and artists for three days of signings, tournaments, rare card reveals, and a vendor marketplace that is genuinely one of a kind in Southeast Asia. If you are planning to attend or just weighing your options, here is everything you need to know.
What Is TCGKL?
TCGKL (Trading Card Game Kuala Lumpur) is Malaysia's largest TCG events organiser, founded in 2023 under Hajoon Capital Sdn Bhd. In three years it has grown into the biggest TCG convention ecosystem in Southeast Asia, with over RM28 million in industry sales across its events and 5,000 or more international visitors passing through its doors.
The organisation runs multiple events throughout the year, from community-focused day events like Kokoro Card Fest and Card Mania to its flagship annual convention. Its work has earned formal recognition from Malaysia's Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and the organisation holds a Malaysia Book of Records entry for the most cards signed in a single event: 1,557 cards signed.
TCGKL covers the full spectrum of popular TCGs. Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and more all have a presence at its events, which means the convention draws a genuinely mixed crowd of players and collectors.

- Exclusive experiences, special showcases, community activations
- And more to be announced
Based on past editions, here is the broad shape of what to expect across the three days at TCGKL Convention 2026:
Artist signing sessions will require separate booking through the TCGKL platform. General entry covers access to the vendor floor, tournaments, and live event programming. On-site grading services run throughout the event. Guest artist reveals are still being announced, so the full picture of who will be signing will come in stages before November.
Highlights of TCGKL Conventions 2026
The 2025 convention crossed 10,000 attendees, a number that puts it in a different league from most regional TCG events. A few things consistently define the TCGKL Convention experience:
Exclusive Artist Signing Sessions
This is what draws many attendees. TCGKL brings in internationally recognised TCG illustrators for in-person signing sessions. Past guests have included Mitsuhiro Arita, Kouki Saitou, and Sunohara, alongside Malaysian MTG artist Julian Kok. The artist lineup for 2026 has not been announced yet, with six artist slots currently listed as mystery reveals on the TCGKL official event page.
These sessions book out. If you are attending TCGKL Convention 2026 specifically to get cards signed, watching for the mystery artist announcements and booking early is the single most important thing you can do. Stay tuned!
Vendor Tradeshow and Marketplace
The convention floor is a buy, sell, and trade marketplace with vendors ranging from hobby shops to individual collectors. It is one of the largest single-venue TCG marketplaces in the region, and the selection across games and price points is wide.
Arrive during the opening hours for the first pick of inventory. Prices tend to firm up early and soften again toward the end of the final day, so if you are hunting specific cards at value, those are your two windows.
Tournaments and Competitive Play
Organised tournaments run across multiple game formats throughout the three days. These cater to competitive players looking for structured play, not just casual trading. Past events have included Pokémon and MTG tournament formats, with prizes tied to placements.
Live Auctions and Professional Grading
On-site card grading by internationally recognised grading companies is available at the convention, which is useful if you are bringing high-value cards you want professionally assessed and get the card PSA-graded. Live auctions of rare artwork and TCG cards also run as part of the event programme.
The 2023 convention saw a Kouki Saitou live drawing sold for over RM7,000 through a live bidding platform, which gives a sense of what these sessions can look like.
Practical Tips Before You Go to The Largest TCG Convention in Southeast Asia
These are the things that make a real difference at an event this size:
- 1. Register for a TCGKL account before the event: Membership is free at tcgkl.com/membership. It gives you priority access when signing sessions open for booking, manages your QR codes in one place, and speeds up entry at the gate. Sign-up takes under a minute.
- 2. Book signing sessions the moment they open: These are the first things to sell out. Artist slot announcements and booking windows are shared through TCGKL's Instagram and Facebook pages, so follow both to catch them early.
- 3. Bring card savers, not toploaders, for grading submissions: Grading companies on-site typically do not accept toploaders. If you plan to submit cards for grading, sleeve them properly in advance.
- 4. Pre-grade high-value cards yourself before arriving: Know which cards you are prioritising for submission so you can move quickly when you get to the grading booth. Queues for popular grading services build fast.
- 5. Go through your collection before the event: If you are planning to trade or sell, sorting and pricing your cards in advance saves time on the floor and makes conversations with vendors much smoother.
- 6. Expect crowds across all three days: The 2025 convention had over 10,000 attendees across its run. Peak hours typically fall in the early afternoon. If you want a calmer browse of the vendor floor, the first couple of hours after opening are generally your best window.
